Do I need a license to join LocalFocal?

You need to be registered business with a valid business license.  However, should you not hold a license, LocalFocal will allow you to create promotions.  More information is listed on our Community Provider tab.

How do I know the right person is picking up the order?  How are orders tracked?

A unique QR code and OTP are generated on successful payment for each order.  You will also get the same codes. When the customer appears to pick up the order, you will be able to scan the QR code or validate the OTP, to make sure that the right person has picked up the order.

Where will the customer come to pick up the order?

At a location specified by you.  LocalFocal gives you the flexibility to choose the location for fulfillment.

What if the customer is no show to pick up the order?

The customer prepays for the order.  If they do not show up, you will still get paid for the order.

How and when will I get paid for the fulfilled order?

LocalFocal does EOD reconciliation and you should be able to get your payments within a week.

What if the customer has a special request with their order?

The beauty of LocalFocal is that you are in complete control of what you want to offer.  The app has built in a messaging capability so the customer can ask for any clarifications, and only place their order if they are completely satisfied.  So you do not need to entertain any special requests. Remember - this is a platform that has been designed to help you promote and sell what you want to.

Can the order be placed to eat in?

If the business is promoting an “eat-in” special then yes absolutely.  All promotions are designed by the business.

What is LocalFocal?

LocalFocal is a highly flexible promotions, advertising and communications marketplace app for restaurants and other businesses to run and manage promotions, and for customers to discover food and services in their neighborhood.

How is LocalFocal different from other food related apps?

LocalFocal fills a gap in the market by allowing food service establishments and community providers to promote and sell their food and services in real time.  If you are signed up on the app and are looking for food choices in a geo area of your choice, our app will show you all the promotions in that area.  You have the ability to reserve and buy from a registered business or a specific offering from a community provider. The app generates a QR code and OTP code that you can use to then complete the order.

Are there any charges to install and sign up on the app?

No. The app is free to download from the Play store and IOS and use.

When you log into the app, you browse by type of offering, distance from your location, and whether you are looking  for gift cards, coupons, or promotions.

Yes.  Providers can list any specific information with their promotion and there is also a chat option where you can ask questions or get any clarifications about a specific offering.

What type of payments are accepted for the orders thru LocalFocal?

We accept all kinds of credit card and digital payments.

Can I save my credit card information in the app? How safe is it?

Yes.  We follow AES 256 encryption and it is as safe as any large online retailer you are currently using.  We do not share this data with any third party. You also have the option of using Stripe and protecting your credit card information that way.

How do I know my order went through?

You will receive an acknowledgement message, and a unique OTP and QR code that you will use to complete the transaction.

What if the app or phone crashes in the middle of the order?

LocalFocal saves all the information in real time.  In the event the phone crashes and comes back up, you can resume from where you were when the phone crashed.

Can I place an order with multiple providers?

Yes.  You have the complete freedom to place as many orders with as many providers as you choose.

Can I cancel or delete my order once placed and get a refund?

You would have to talk to the business and work it out with them.  The app does not allow you to cancel an order you have already placed or reserved.

How do I know where I should pick up the order from?

The promotion will have the pickup location included in it.

How do I use LocalFocal to promote my home business?

Sign in into the app and then upgrade as a community provider.  You will now have two accounts - one as a consumer and one as a community provider.  As a community provider, you can start using the full capability that LocalFocal offers.  When a customer “reserves” an order, the app generates a unique OTP number and QR code that is then used to validate the pickup.

What regulations do I need to comply with?

LocalFocal encourages responsible community providers to list their products and services.  Each state has specific guidelines and requirements to be recognized as a cottage provider. Please check with your state and local regulations for compliance.

How do I protect my security and privacy?

LocalFocal allows you to hide your location and contact information and designate any place of your choosing for a customer to pick up their order.  Built in messaging allows you to address any queries that the customer might have so they can place their orders.

How do I get paid?

As a community provider, LocalFocal does not allow payment on the app unless you register as a cottage provider, complying with all local and state regulations.  Payment will have to be done directly between you and the customer.

To the community providers, LocalFocal charges a flat monthly listing fee.

What If I can’t fulfill all the orders placed on LocalFocal?

As the provider, you get to decide the quantity in any promotions you run.  LocalFocal tracks the number of orders placed, and automatically decreases the quantity still available.  When all the product is sold, and the count drops to zero, the promotion automatically expires.
